Many of these children suffer from night blindness by the age of 5. Vitamin A is effective in preventing this.
Most of these children are infected with parasites, which add to the problem of malnutrition.
Vitamin A and Albendazole are provided to all in need.
Vitamin A
People with vitamin A deficiencies are specifically at risk for blindness, severe illness, and death due to suppressed immune system.
Albendazole
Parasites consume about 1/3 of the daily nutrition ingested by people infected by parasites. Eliminating parasites improves nutritional absorption, and diseases and complications due to susceptible parasites are reduced or eliminated.
